Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why did you pick the name "kalidastheater.com" and not just "kalidas.org"?

A:  When we first considered a website, kalidas.org as a domain name was already registered, in China!  However, this website often had no content associated with it and suffered from frequent blackouts.  We dug into this some more when it came back online and we solicited the purchase of the domain name.  Thanks to a friend of ours who is a native of mainland China, the mystery was solved.

The website kalidas.org is actually a college student's blog.  It was shutdown by the Chinese Government Internet Policy when we first looked at it- hence no content.  It has been back on line since the beginning of March 2010.  The blogger is in Sichuan Province, at the Southwestern Petroleum University.  Kalidas is a name he gives to himself.  It supposedly represents "Poet and Musician" and reflects on his attitude towards life and spiritual values.  He wants this site to be his permanent personal blog.  He claims that he refuses to be "harmonized by the Chinese Internet Police".  His true name is Lijun Wang.  He has a dream to manage an internet website, become a screen writer and also write books.

Needless to say, we wish this young man well and picked a new domain name...
